Chadzakampoti Village Receives Vital Food Assistance
Chadzakampoti Village, home to 160 families, faces significant economic challenges, with an average monthly income of just $14. A recent distribution of 2,592 meals has provided critical support to this community.
Among those who have benefited is Ndeleya Semu, a 68-year-old man caring for his grandchildren. Ndeleya’s situation is particularly challenging; after his children divorced and remarried, they did not take their children with them, leaving Ndeleya, who is too old to hold a full-time job, struggling to provide for their needs. With an average family size of six in the village, Ndeleya’s family of three is smaller than usual, but still in critical need.
The food assistance has made a significant difference for Ndeleya and his grandchildren. “Thank you for what you have done for my family,” he expressed, a sentiment echoed by many in Chadzakampoti Village. The distribution of these 2,592 meals offers a lifeline to families facing hardship, underscoring the importance of ongoing support.
You Turn’s New Well Transforms Life in Chalowa Village
Chalowa Village, Malawi – A new well, constructed by You Turn and Green Acres Baptist Church in Spokane Valley in April, is bringing significant change to the lives of 117 families, including that of Richard Pselera, his wife Makulata, and their four children. The community relies on farming for their survival, and the availability of clean water is crucial to their success.
Previously, the lack of a reliable water source made farming more challenging and time-consuming. Now, with the new well, families have easier access to the water they need. “We are glad to have this well that enables us to work in our fields,” says Richard Pselera. This improved access to water is expected to increase agricultural productivity, improve health, and provide more time for other essential activities. The well represents a significant step forward for Chalowa Village.
Pastor Training Schools in Malawi Nurture Future Leaders
Our Pastor Training Schools in Msundwe, Mponela, and 6-Miles, Malawi, continue to be a source of inspiration and growth for aspiring pastors. Monthly interviews with pastoral candidates, such as Nelson Biton from the 6-Miles School, offer powerful testimonies of transformation. Nelson shared, “I was a sinner. One day, I heard the Gospel of God’s love for sinners, and my life was touched. I surrendered my life to Christ. Now, I am sharing the Gospel with sinners.”
The dedication of these students is reflected in their attendance and academic pursuits. In April, the curriculum focused on foundational texts and essential ministry skills, including Old Testament Survey, New Testament Survey, Acts, Romans, the books of Prophecy, and preaching biblical messages. The intensive five-day sessions also incorporated practical application, with students engaging in preaching exercises with their peers. To date, all three schools are exceeding a 98% attendance average, and in most months, all 45 students are present every day.
These training schools play a vital role in equipping the next generation of spiritual leaders in Malawi, providing them with the knowledge, skills, and spiritual foundation necessary to serve their communities effectively.
How Hope Blooms through You Turn Lighthouse Programs
What a blessing the recent activities at the Mitundu Lighthouse have been! Our students are thriving, receiving nourishing meals, educational support, and enriching Bible teachings. The garden continues to yield a bountiful harvest of greens and vegetables, and we’ve planted trees that promise future fruit. Bible lessons have focused on topics like God’s sovereign care and deep love for each child. A special visitor brightened their day with a thoughtful gift of soap for everyone. The Lighthouse also hosted a powerful community night showing of the Jesus Film, resulting in many villagers embracing Christ as their Savior. Praise God for His goodness and the impactful work happening at the Mitundu Lighthouse!
